Naming of a street in the Dien Bien Phu district with the name “Batna”

This afternoon (September 20), the People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu Neighborhood held an inauguration ceremony for a street named Batna.

Present at the ceremony were H.E. Mr. Azeddine Bechka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Vietnam; and Mr. Mohamed Ouhaddad, First Secretary of the Algerian Embassy.

From Dien Bien Province, present were: Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Province and Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee.

Batna Street is 600 meters long, with a cross-section of 15.5 meters. The starting point is adjacent to 7/5 (May 7) Street in Resettlement Zone No. 3; the ending point is adjacent to 7/5 Street next to the Provincial Guest House.

Batna Street takes its name from the province of Batna, located in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, which maintains friendly and twinning relations with Dien Bien Province.

It is a vivid illustration of international solidarity, traditional friendship, and the deep attachment between the peoples of the two provinces in particular, and between Vietnam and Algeria in general.

The installation of street signs contributes to enriching the toponymic system of the Dien Bien Phu neighborhood, while affirming the tradition of friendship and the spirit of noble international solidarity, and raising awareness among the younger generation of the values ​​of cooperation and development between nations.
